Hiram graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (2019) with degrees in International Relations (with a focus on Latin American international security) and Government with a minor in Spanish. Both of Hiram’s parents were born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and journeyed to El Paso, Texas right around the time he was born. Having lived the struggles immigrant families typically experience in the United States, he is passionate about working to improve the lives and amplify the voices of those who, like his family, are unheard and under represented. In the past, Hiram has helped lead his local LULAC chapter and other civil rights organizations where he organized marches, fundraisers, and volunteer events. Through unbiased reporting, and filming, Hiram is dedicated to showcasing the voices of people who are standing up for justice, human rights and equality in America.
